Many think there is a war going on between the haves and have nots.
Many, including Warren Buffett, think the rich should pay more taxes. At least equal to the middle-class.
Those of us that remember the second World War remember 90% excise profit taxes.
MY THOUGHTS
+The value to society of the profits being made has by passed the point of diminishing returns.
+Congress should have put an excess profits tax on bank and brokerage firm salaries + fringe in
return for bail out money, if not on all such firms.
+Congress should consider the same type of tax on all financial firm salaries + fringes.
+The social value of earnings in this sector of our economy has past the point of diminishing returns.
+Such steps should shift the attractiveness of work to more productive areas.
