Gordon Wood, a Nobel Prize winner for literature was on the C-Span book channel Saturday talking about his new book "Empire of Liberty". During the Q & A he pointed out that we have fewer problems today than we had in our Country during the 18th and 19th Centuries when our form of life and Government was forming. For example, back then
Many wars, horrible, biased press coverage, much greater consumption of alcohol; much more domestic violence; and many more homicides per capita, not to mention the verociousness of campus demonstrations. Wow! That gives me further cause to be optimistic about our great United States of America and our future.
